On immigration, Obama backs Mexico, not Arizona

When President Obama discussed the new Arizona immigration law with Mexican President Felipe Calderon at the White House Wednesday, he was doing something he has never done with the governor of Arizona. Although Obama has repeatedly criticized the law, he has not once talked about it with Gov. Jan Brewer, nor is any such discussion in the works.

Remembering John McCain's 2008 Campaign Adviser -- Open Borders Pal Juan Hernandez, Erstwhile Revolutionary and Virulent Anti-Semite

"John McCain was a terrible -- terrible -- candidate for president in 2008. He advocated cap-and-trade to deal with the non-existent warmal colding scam; he tried to shove amnesty for illegal immigrants down our throats; he tried to destroy freedom of speech with McCain-Feingold; he was one of the 'Gang of 14' that let Democrats illegally filibuster conservative judicial nominees; and he couldn't articulate a coherent sentence during the campaign ('Heh, heh... my friends'). And he certainly doesn't understand the Constitution and the principles of our founding."

Congressman McClintock’s Response to President Calderon (delivered on House floor) : Stop The ACLU

"I rise to take strong exception to the speech of the President of Mexico while in this chamber today.
The Mexican government has made it very clear for many years that it holds American sovereignty in contempt and President Calderon’s behavior as a guest of the Congress confirms and underscores this attitude."

“This Law Will Make Me Feel Like a Nazi” - Arizona Cop

When I posted a request for people in Arizona interested in doing short interviews about their opinions on SB 1070, I expected a few angry or frustrated responses on the subject matter. I got one response which I must admit I read with skepticism. It read:

Obama administration’s official position agrees with AZ immigration-enforcement law

While the Obama administration continues its apology tour in China and uses the Arizona immigration-enforcement law as fodder for some bowing and scraping, the Department of Justice may need to scrape some egg off of its face. Attorney General Eric Holder admitted that he hadn’t actually read the bill before criticizing it, but it turns out that he needs to catch up on reading at the DoJ, too. The Washington Postreports that the Obama administration has yet to withdraw a Bush-era memo that acknowledges the authority of states to do exactly what the Arizona law mandates:

4 Immigration Issues That Are Too Hot To Handle

Despite the fact that immigration is vitally important to our nation's future, it has become impossible to have an honest conversation about the issue. There's simply too much fear of falsely being called a racist or of offending some key political demographic for people to discuss the subject. That has to change and it starts right here.

Nothing wrong with a little playful banter, but especially on the topic of surgery to enhance the G-spot you have to be sure to keep it G-rated. Coming out and asking “Is she enjoying the penis more now?” probably is a bit too on the head. Pun intended! Via Guyism.

Feds tell court they can decide what you eat

Attorneys for the federal government have argued in alawsuit pending in federal court in Iowa that individuals have no "fundamental right" to obtain what food they choose.
"Plaintiffs' assertion of a 'fundamental right to their own bodily and physical health, which includes what foods they do and do not choose to consume for themselves and their families' is similarly unavailing because plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish," the government has argued.

Just in case you were afraid that your tax dollars might be going to waste on teachers’ salaries, just listen to Ron Gochez, a history teacher in the “Occupied territories of Mexico” (California) who wants to “change the paradigm of the whole discussion”.

[Assistant Secretary of State Michael] Posner said in addition to talks on freedom of religion and expression, labor rights and rule of law, officials also discussed Chinese complaints about problems with U.S. human rights, which have included crime, poverty, homelessness and racial discrimination.
He said U.S. officials did not whitewash the American record and in fact raised on its [sic] own a new immigration law in Arizona that requires police to ask about a person's immigration status if there is suspicion the person is in the country illegally.

Editor's Note: The controversy over Facebook's aggressive attempts to cash in on information about its members is heating up. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that "anti-Facebook sentiment is surfacing in highly visible places, from the halls of Congress to the blogs and podcasts of influential technology experts like Leo Laporte of Petaluma."It seems to me that ultimately their goal is to funnel all Internet traffic through Facebook.com," said Laporte, who deleted his Facebook profile during a recent podcast and donated money to Diaspora, a project to create a more open and private alternative to Facebook. Laporte was inspired to put an end to his Facebook account by a recent blog post by Jason Calacanis, chief executive officer of Mahalo, a question-and-answer Web site. He accused Facebook and CEO Mark Zuckerberg of trading users' privacy for profit. ... Facebook convened a staff meeting Thursday to discuss the backlash, although some staff members described it as a routine gathering. ...

In addition, a majority believes that the potential economic benefits of offshore drilling outweigh its potential harm to the environment.
