California Rep. Waters may face fall ethics trial - Yahoo! News
WASHINGTON – A second House Democrat, Rep. Maxine Waters of California, could face an ethics trial this fall, further complicating the election outlook for the party as it battles to retain its majority.
People familiar with the investigation, who were not authorized to be quoted about charges before they are made public, say the allegations could be announced next week. The House ethics committee declined Friday to make any public statement on the matter.
Waters, 71, has been under investigation for a possible conflict of interest involving a bank that was seeking federal aid. Her husband owned stock in the bank and had served on its board.

You would think that a bill supported by nearly three-quarters of the legislature should be a breeze to become law. Not so in today's House of Representatives. The legislative system has become so convoluted and corrupted that not even the legislators know what is in the bills, where the bills are being written, or what bills are pending. Given the current system, it should come as no surprise that a bill which would allow the Congress to audit the Federal Reserve should be stalled in a committee and will soon die.

Wear your Klan robe to school day
Back in 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder referred to the U.S. as a "nation of cowards". His exact quote was: "Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards." http://goo.gl/9OzD
A lot of criticism was made, especially by the Republicans about these remarks.
Ron Christie, a one-time domestic policy adviser to former President George W. Bush, said that for the nation's chief law enforcement officer to raise race issues "was wrong and it was very insulting to the American people."
Hilary Shelton of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People agreed that Holder's comments are "provocative."
Michelle Malkin wrote: "Holder doesn't want an honest dialogue about race. In the Age of [President] Obama, 'talking enough with each other about race' means the rest of us shutting up while being subjected to lectures about our insensitivity and insufficient integration on the weekends".

Now, let me say this from the start, I agree with Mr. Holder. A lot of us are afraid when it comes to discussions about race. But it's not because we are cowards. It's because we of the Caucasian persuasion are sick and tired of being called a racist every time we say something disparagingly about a "person of color" (speaking of which, why is "people of color" OK, but "colored people" not? And if black people don't like the term "colored people", then why not change the name to "National Association for the Advancement of African-Americans NAAAA? That sounds like a sheep bleating, which would be appropriate).
The newest flap is the kids in a Lumpkin county, GA High school being allowed to wear Klan robes, which were a part of a film about racism, in the school. http://goo.gl/kCJY
Now, if some of the stories going around were true, as kids wanting to re-enact a lynching using one black kid, I can agree with children and parents being upset. But some of the people were angry simply because the children were allowed to wear the robes. It's like: "You can produce a video about racism, but you can't show racism". "We want more stories about how bad racism is, but you can't show how bad racism is, if you do, you're racist." The Klan is a part of history. Both black and white.
This also goes for the criticism of any black person, for any reason. Black people are only criticized because they're black. Black people never commit crimes, they are never unethical, never corrupt. They are only accused of these crimes because of their color. To say that white people don't like Barack Obama because he's black is OK, but to suggest that blacks voted for him for the same reason is racist.
This also goes for the latino community and Arizona's anti-immigration law. The only reason you want to keep illegals out is because they're Hispanic.(another term is "indigenous red-brown peoples" http://goo.gl/YQKl We can just say "IRBP").
The IRBP are upset because Americans do not want them in the country illegally (that would be the IIIRBP, "illegal immigrant indigenous red-brown peoples"), so what they do is accuse every anti-immigration law or supporter of being anti-Latino (ie: racist).
Until either blacks, Hispanics, IRBP, Asians (what became of orientals?) and anyone else who isn't white stop accusing whites of racism every time they fart in the wrong direction, or the whites stand up and call bullshit when they are accused, we as a nation will be afraid to discuss race.

Why we need racial profiling
Critics against the Arizona immigration law (SB1070) overall have a couple of points that they make condeming it. One is that legal residents of Arizona, at least the brown ones (or as one blogger puts it "Indigenous red-brown peoples) will be treated the same as the Nazi's treated the Jews ("papers, please"). The other is that this law will lead to racial profiling. Wikipedia's definition of racial profiling is "use by law enforcement personnel of an individual’s race or ethnicity as a factor in articulating reasonable suspicion to stop, question or arrest an individual, unless race or ethnicity is part of an identifying description of a specific suspect for a specific crime." Arizona and other states are running over with Hispanic illegal aliens, not Swedes. If they were looking for illegal Swedes, the mid-west blonde-hair-blue-eyed-children-of-the-corn might be targeted if they came to Arizona. But let's face it, Arizona isn't looking for Aryans. Arizona is looking for illegal Hispanics, the best way to find illegal Hispanics is to question suspicious-looking Hispanics. Now, what is "suspicious-looking"? How about no form of ID? If you were in an accident, and the other driver was Hispanic, didn't speak English very well (or not at all), and had no drivers licenses, no insurance, etc. You would immediately peg him as illegal. That's racial profiling! If the other driver was a 20 year old white redneck, in no way would you suspect him of being in the country illegally.
Does anyone think this is wrong? If the other driver turned out to be legal, but lost his wallet at the laundromat yesterday, you wouldn't consider yourself racist for thinking he was illegal (at least I wouldn't). The term for that is "Prejudiced". Wikipedia defines it as "... a prejudgment: i.e. a preconceived belief, opinion, or judgment made without ascertaining the facts of a case." http://goo.gl/4JI6 We pre-judge all the time. The stocky short haired woman in the Khakis and Birkenstocks is a Lez., The banker with a big nose is a Jew, The fat black woman with 6 kids is on welfare, and her children are from 6 different "babydaddies", the Indian customer service rep really isn't named "Bob", the lawyer is a crook, etc. Pre-judging is natural, sometimes wrong, but not racist.

On immigration, Obama backs Mexico, not Arizona
When President Obama discussed the new Arizona immigration law with Mexican President Felipe Calderon at the White House Wednesday, he was doing something he has never done with the governor of Arizona. Although Obama has repeatedly criticized the law, he has not once talked about it with Gov. Jan Brewer, nor is any such discussion in the works.
